What kind of help can my family and i get from anchored together?

At Anchored Together Aberdeenshire Family Support, our primary aim is for you and your family to be listened to, heard, and understood without judgment. We offer a space where your experiences and feelings are validated, helping you feel less alone in your journey.

Who is anchored together for, and is it a safe place for everyone to share their experiences?

Anchored Together is for everyone – families and friends alike – who are affected by any form of addiction or compulsive behaviour. We provide a strictly confidential, safe, free, and non-judgmental space for everyone to share their experiences, offer and receive help and support, and challenge the stigma associated with addiction.

What happens at a typical weekly meeting?

Our weekly face-to-face meetings offer a structured yet relaxed environment for sharing and support. You can expect a warm welcome, the opportunity to listen to others' experiences, and to share your own in a supportive group setting, always respecting confidentiality.

Is there a cost involved in accessing support?

No, Anchored Together Aberdeenshire Family Support is proud to offer its services completely free of charge. Our goal is to remove barriers to support, ensuring that anyone who needs a safe space can access it without financial burden.

How do we actually get started or connect with you for support?

How does anchored together challenge stigma around addiction?

We actively challenge stigma by fostering open dialogue, promoting understanding, and sharing real-life experiences in a supportive environment. By providing education and a safe space, we aim to break down misconceptions and encourage empathy within our community.

What if i'm not ready to share my experiences?

That's absolutely fine. You are welcome to simply come and listen at our meetings or connect with us privately through email or Facebook. There's no pressure to share until you feel ready. Our focus is on providing comfort and presence.

Can i bring a friend or family member with me for support?

Yes, absolutely! We encourage you to bring anyone who provides you with support or who is also affected by addiction. The more connections we build, the stronger our community becomes.
