Hear from our families
We know that feeling hesitant is natural, but hearing from others who have walked a similar path can offer immense comfort and hope. Seeing the positive changes when people first attend our group and leaving at the end feeling lighter and more hopeful makes all our efforts worthwhile. We sincerely hope to eliminate the shame around any addiction or compulsive behaviour for all involved, by showcasing real stories of connection, support, non-judgement, and understanding. These experiences truly demonstrate the transformative power of reaching out.
"It’s a lonely existence being a parent of an addict and having ATAFS has helped me immensely. We discuss what’s been happening in our lives and give each other encouragement and strength to keep going. Unless you’re in our situation you can’t understand how we feel and what we’re going through. At ATAFS we understand each other."
